Please note that the latest version of Diafaan SMS Server (basic- and full edition) include the script for the Wassenger WhatsApp service. Instead of manually changing the script, it is now possible to select the Wassenger script when you add a new HTTP Gateway.
- Create a new HTTP Gateway and select the 'Wassenger (WhatsApp)' gateway.
- Fill in the API token from Wassenger
- (Optionally) Select HTTP server for Wassenger webhooks to allow inbound message
For the rest of the installation you can follow the instructions in the PDF from Open Dental.
For those interested to setup Diafaan with Wassenger, I made a small pdf instructions guide .
For installation , and more info
Diafaan has many preset "HTTP Gateways"
Diafaan just added the Wassenger script to the standard services list in the HTTP Gateway, "Wassenger HTTP Gateway"
You do not need to contact Diafaan anymore to get that special script, It will be available in the next version of Diafaan SMS Server. Now you can use Diafaan to text your Whatsapp customers.
HENK, Thank you again.
A- To send Whatsapp messages with Diafaan, and Wassenger is very is "VERY EASY" , takes a very short time to setup.
contact email@example.com and they will provide you with the script and the instructions how to create and add it to the HTTP Gateway
B- To receive Whatsapp messages through Wassenger to Diafaan , you need to add a webhook in Wassenger.
To add the webhook you have to take the following steps in the Wassenger dashboard:
1. Click the Developers link:
2. Click Webhooks
3. Click Create webhook
4. Fill in the name and the link to your IP number and port number
5. Click Create webhook to check if the link works
This only works if you exposed the HTTP server of the script to the internet. You most likely have to add a port forwarding rule to your
internet router. If your IP number is 123.456.123.456, the 'Remote webhook URL' has the form:
The light edition of Diafaan SMS Server does not have the HTTP Gateway, that is only available in the basic and full editions of Diafaan SMS Server. Now you can use Diafaan and Whatsapp, through Wassenger
It worked. Thank you Henk.

Open Dental is an Open Source software, and many international dentist are using it.
We have been using it with Diafaan to text our patients from inside the dental software using Whatsapp
No Whatsapp business account required, just regular account.
1- Mopensoft app: $89 per year - 30 days free trial

Diafaan SMS Server does not have built-in support for Wassenger but it is possible to add it to the HTTP Gateway or Scripting Gateway with a customized script.
To test Wassenger out, I created an account and made a script for the HTTP Gateway that can send and receive individual text Whatsapp messages and this worked fine. If you have a license for Diafaan SMS Server basic- or full edition that is still in the free update and support period I can send you the script with instructions how to use it. Please send the serial number of your license to email address firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to receive the script.
I am looking for a way to use Diafaan to send and receive text messages through Wassenger API, mainly to text message Whatsapp user.
Wassenger is easy to use, and does not require Whatsapp business account.
Is there a guide on how to set Diafaan with Wassenger, maybe through Diafaan http gateway?
Wassenger offer their own key, for each user
Any assistance will be appreciated
