Hello Jason,
If you want to use Diafaan SMS Server with a LAN modem or a TCP/IP to serial converter on another LAN or WAN network you have to set up a port forwarding for the device and use the public IP address and port number of the LAN/WAN network in Diafaan SMS Server.
For instance, if your WAN network has public IP number 120.120.120.120 and the ATC-1000 has IP number 192.168.0.100 in your WAN network, you can forward (for example) port 10001 of your router to port 23 of IP number 192.168.0.100 of the ATC-1000. When you add the GSM Modem Gateway in Diafaan SMS Server you use IP number 120.120.120.120 with port number 10001.
It is important to realize that the connection between Diafaan SMS Server and the ATC-1000 is not encrypted and not even protected with a password. When the ATC-1000 is accessible from the internet every internet user can make a connection to the GSM modem.

Hi,
I have a Wavecom connected to an ATC-1000. All were configured and tested to send SMS. I wanted now for this SMS device to work with the Diafaan SMS Server which is installed on a different location.
In Diafaan "Add GSM Modem Gateway" screen, what HOST or IP should I use? is it the WAN IP address of the network where the wavecom/atc1000 devices are isntalled? and do i need to do port forwarding for this setup to work?
Thanks.
Jason
