I can't find anything wrong with the message but I notice that you have changed the 'Use16BitConcatenationId' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway to 'True'. It is possible that the modem or your mobile operator does not support 16-bit concatenation ID's properly and it is worth a try to re-set it to the default value 'False'.

If changing the 'Use16BitConcatenationId' property does not solve the problem then the only cause of the error I can think of is some sort of a communication or timeout problem between the modem and the mobile network. It might help to change the location of the modem or antenna but there is nothing that you can change in Diafaan SMS Server to solve these kind of problems.

Your log does not contain any messages longer than 76 character so I am not able to see in the log what happens when you send a long message.

The difference between the failed messages and the successful message in the log is that the failed messages are sent to a local number, starting with a '0'. The successful message is sent to an international number, starting with '+43'. By default, Diafaan SMS Server marks all phone numbers without a prefix as international and your mobile operator rejects messages to local numbers that are marked as international. The best way to prevent this error is to use only number in international number format in Diafaan SMS Server.

If you set the 'DefaultAddressType' in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway to 'National', the GSM Modem Gateway will mark messages with numbers that do not start with a '+' as national numbers. Most mobile operators accept numbers in national number format.

Diafaan SMS Server can also convert number formats automatically with the 'NumberTemplate' property of each gateway.

it seems the problem is our gsm gateway
(ecotel vierling - based on siemens Cinterion MC55i, connected via TCP/IP)

All SMS with more than 80(!) Charactes will not be sent.

Hello Frank,

Diafaan SMS Server automatically splits long SMS messages in multiple parts. The GSM Modem Gateway and SMPP Gateway have a default limit of 10 message parts per message but this can be increased in the advanced settings of the gateways.

Most of the connectors in Diafaan SMS Server do not have a maximum length for each SMS message but the Email Connector is an exception. To prevent excessively long messages, the Email Connector has a default limit of 160 characters for each SMS message that it generates. To increase the character limit, open the Email Connector properties, select 'Send SMS' and click on 'Edit SMS message template'.

We are evaluating the SMS Server and we found, that SMS with more than 160 charactes are not automatically splitted into multi sms.

The SMS is cut off at 160 charactes, a second sms is not send.

is there a way to handle this?
