Hi Henk,

Solved the issue by changing the TON and NPI as prescribed by SMSC. Diafaan software is an excellent software and appreciate your efforts.

Raj

Hi Henk,

Thanks for your quick response.
After my interaction with MTN (RWANDA), they said that it is the issue of configuring the TON and NPI values. As the we are using the Short code 1222, I am not sure of the values to be configured for these parameters. The possible values as per them are as follows.
The following TON values are defined:

0: Unknown

1: International

2: National

3: Network Specific

4: Subscriber Number

5: Alphanumeric

6: Abbreviated

The following NPI values are defined:

0: Unknown

1: ISDN (E163/E164)

2: Data (X.121)

3: Telex (F.69)

6: Land Mobile (E.212)

8: National

9: Private

10: ERMES

13: Internet (IP)
Initially I configured for TON 5 and NPI 1 but no luck. Any insight about the configuration would help me resolve the issue.

Hello Raj,

Receiving SMS messages over an SMPP connection is automatic in Diafaan SMS Server, if your SMPP service provider sends the received messages over the SMPP connection they will always be shown in the receive log. And if there is an error decoding the messages then there should at least be errors in the event log of Diafaan SMS Server.

If you do not get the received messages, and there are no errors in the event log, then the most likely reason for the problem is that the SMPP server does not forward the messages to the SMPP account you use in Diafaan SMS Server.

Regards, Henk

Hi,

I am using Diafaan Basic version and configured SMPP server with Port 3339. I am able to send messages and not able to receive messages. Don't know whether it is a problem with SMSC (MTN with short code 1222) or configuration of SMPP gateway. Kindly guide.

Regards
Raj
