The 'SendLimit' option was added to the SMPP Gateway in version 4.4.0.0 of Diafaan SMS Server.

In the SMPP Gateway, you can set the 'SendLimit' parameter to, for instance, '500D' to limit the number of messages that Diafaan SMS Server sends with the gateway to 500 messages per day.

Can you explain what you mean with 'SMP connection'? I am not familiar with this term in this context.

Our connection is created like this: One SMP is one SIM card. The principle of operation is exactly the same as with a modem. Need SendLimit function for SMP connection! Without this, it is not possible to work with diafan, since diafan tries to send SMS, and goip gives an error and all messages deteriorate (

With a simple USB modem pool with multiple modem modules, Diafaan SMS Server can precisely limit the number of messages per time period for each module (SIM card). This is not possible with a device like the GoIP gateway because this device uses a single SMPP connection to send messages to each of the modem modules on the device and Diafaan SMS Server has no way to control which message is sent with each specific modem module. It can only send the messages to the SMPP server of the GoIP gateway and the GoIP gateway distributes the messages over the available modem modules.

As far as I know, the GoIP gateway does not have the functionality to limit the number of messages that is sent per modem module in a specific time period.

Hi Henk. Yes, you say everything right. Now I want to work with GOIP and sim cards that send every 500 sms per day, when I work on a GSM modem, I set SendLimit 500 in the settings and after reaching the limit, the channel is not used and sms are sent through another free channel. I do not see the settings for the Goip SMPP connector! after the sms on the sim card ended, all sms are still sent through the goip SPMM and go into error. Although one Goip channel is like one GSM modem. How to set the Send Limit for the Goip SMPP connector? Thank you. This is a very big problem ((

Hello Konstantin,

You can use the 'SendLimit' setting to restrict the number of messages per time period that Diafaan SMS Server will send with the gateway. This can be useful if the SIM card(s) in the GoIP gateway have a restriction on the number of messages that can be sent. Some mobile operators limit the amount of messages that can be sent to prevent spam, and some SIM cards have a maximum number of messages that can be sent for free or for a low charge. I can't really say if this is useful in your situation.

For normal GSM modems or modem pools, Diafaan SMS Server controls exactly how fast, and with which modem module, the messages are sent. But this is not possible for an SMPP gateway like the GoIP gateway. Diafaan SMS Server does not know the throughput of the GoIP modem so it is important that the messages are not sent too fast. You can set the 'MaxMessagesPerMinute' setting to a lower value if you notice that the GoIP gateway receives too many messages from Diafaan SMS Server.
