You can find the reviews of modems that we have tested on our website. Most modem pools use Wavecom GSM modules, if you buy a modem with a Wavecom Q24plus module it should work on all GSM networks (but not on 3G and 4G networks!) and the Q24plus modules support USSD.

Dear Henk,
yes #144# is a valid code. It works fine on phones.
Could you recommand a GSM/3GN modem. If possible a one that use multiple SIM?
Thank kyou.
Alberto.

We have not tested the Huawei E3131 but there are a few Huawei modems that do not support USSD, like the Huawei E220.

My previous answer was not entirely complete, the error 'USSD command not supported' can also mean that the mobile network does not accept the specific USSD command. Are you certain that '#144#' is a valid USSD command for the mobile network?

Hello Alberto,

The error 'USSD command not supported' means that your GSM/3G modem does not support USSD commands.

The Android GSM Modem Emulator app does not support USSD because Android does not allow apps to process USSD commands. Most GSM/3G modems do have support for USSD, which GSM modem are you using besides the Android GSM Modem Emulator app?

Regards, Henk

Dear all,
I am new to Diafaan and Just got it setup with SQL Server and a GSM Modem gateway.
I am able to get both working. I can send and receive SMS and hey are logged in the MessageIn and MessageOut table.
I am trying to send a USSD code using the [Send Message] tab of the GSM Gateway. I set the message type to gsm.ussd and wrote the code #144# code on the [To] field.
I've also tried to create a record in the MessageOut table with #144# in the [MessageTo] field and gsm.ussd in the [MesageType] field.
Both returns with this Error code: Status : 300, Error, USSD command not suppoted.
I've trie dusing the GSM Modem Emulator on an Android phone as well with the same erro.
The #123# code works directly from the cell phone and returns the Balance.
Please Help.
Alberto.
