Hello David,

The HTTP callback function in Diafaan SMS Server blocks the gateway or connector during the HTTP call. If the HTTP callback calls are consistently reliable and fast, this is not a problem and using HTTP callback is an excellent option. You can even return 'result=0' from the callback script if you don't want Diafaan SMS Server to process the messages internally, to make it more efficient.

If the web script that is called from the HTTP calls is slow or unreliable then it is better to use a Scripting Connector with a C# script to process the messages.

Regards, Henk

I'm using the HTTP callback mechanism mostly to write inbound messages to text files.

Is there any difference or benefit to using a script connector (or script gateway) and writing the file in a c# script as opposed to running an http server (the built in one) and starting a php cgi process in the callback?

I run fairly significant amounts of traffic and I want to reduce unnecessary overhead and streamline things as much as I can.
