Hello Henk,

Thanks for the reply, we have done it with the database trigger.

Thanks again.

The backup gateway routing also works when the primary gateway is active and the message is rejected by the SMS service provider but you are correct that it does not work when the message is accepted by the gateway and a status update/delivery report with an error is received from the gateway later.

There is no built-in feature in Diafaan SMS Server that will accomplish what you want. The only way I can think of to do this is with a database trigger.

Hello Henk,

Thanks for the quick turn around. We have checked that options, but that works only when the primary gateway is not available or not connected.

Our case is a little different after submitting the message to the SMPP gateway A when the gateway return a error code and fails the message then we have to send the message from gateway B.

Can you suggest some thing on this?

Thanks

Hello Sarfaraz,

Diafaan SMS Server considers the second message as a separate message and there is no option in Diafaan SMS Server to connect the message status of the second message to the first one. It is probably possible to implement this with a database trigger (depending on the SQL database that you use) but that might have a negative impact on the performance of the database when you send a lot of messages.

Diafaan SMS Server has built-in support to use backup gateways when a message cannot be sent with one of the primary gateways. If the backup gateway procedure is used for every message, that is the best way to implement it.

Regards, Henk

Hello Henk,

We have a scenario in which the SMS sent from one SMPP Gateway fails because of some x reason so we want to push the same from some other gateway. This means that message A is sent from A gateway the message is submitted to the gateway and after some secs A gateway sends a response that it cannot deliver with error code X.

So now we want the same message to be retry with Gateway B. While sending this message for retry we will pass the same userid and userinfo values as that of the earlier message so when the message log updates it updates the earlier entry with the new status from gateway B.

Can you please suggest us some option which we can use to achieve the required results.

Thanks in advance.
Have a great day!!
