Unfortunately, the Nokia 6131 does not support the reception of SMS messages from a PC. When Diafaan SMS Server tries to read the messages, the modem reports an error and the GSM Modem Gateway is restarted in an attempt to resolve the problem.

When you select "Send only" in the General page of the GSM Modem Gateway Properties, Diafaan SMS Server stops trying to read the messages from the phone.

We are not able to test the software with all the (older) phones available, the older models often work but newer (smart)phones usually do not support receiving SMS messages.
For critical applications we usually recommend the Sierra Wireless (Wavecom) fastrack, Cinterion (Siemens) serial port modems or Multitech serial port modems. USB modems from Huawei and Option are also a good choice, as long as you have the latest firmware and drivers. And even then you sometimes run into driver issues with the modem.
