Diafaan SMS Server does not have a specific function to send voice calls with a modem. And at the moment we do not have any plans to add this feature.
It *is* possible to send an AT command to the GSM modem with Diafaan SMS Server after setting the 'PermitModemCommandMessages' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway to 'True'. You can then send a message with message type 'modem.command' and the AT command in the text part of the message. To dial a number, the AT command would be something like: 'ATD0123456789;'.
I am not sure if this works properly in your situation because it is probably not possible to control the timing of the call but you can give it a try.

Hi,
we use a diafaan server with a Huawei e173 3g usb modem, to send us monitorings alerts to some mobile phones. This works great, but in some case it can be very helpfull if we can receive voice calls in case of major problems. Receiving SMS is a greate thing for us, but when we sleep, as we all need to sleep some hours everyday ... 😉 then it's not sufficent to send/receive alerts by SMS.
Our monitoring software is PRTG, and i'm pretty sure it can be managed to send a "make voice call to xyz" for some probes/monitorings.
But, is there a way/solution to make that Diafaan SMS Server send a voice call ?
It's NOT important if there is no message/answer if we take the call, the most important is to be able make our phones ring and ring so long nobody take the line.
Thanks for any idea to help us, i think that we are not alone to think about such a feature.
Regards
