The RebootAfterNetworkFailure should also work in your situation, I overlooked that option.

Hello Henk

Thanks for the response. I will try this option. I also noticed that there is a Reboot after network failure option. I'll play around with these settings and see if it makes a difference. Unfortunately I battled to get firmware for this modem in the first place so if the issue persists I'll try with a different modem.

Regards

Hello Mahesh,

This error indicates that the modem has lost contact with the mobile network, this usually means that the mobile network is not available or that the signal strength is insufficient but if a restart of the modem solves the problem it could also be an internal hardware or software problem in the modem.

If there is a firmware update available for the modem it could be worth a try to see if that solves the problem.

Diafaan SMS Server does not have an option to reboot the modem when this error occurs, it can only reboot the modem when an outgoing message fails or when the modem reacts in an unexpected way to a modem command. But there is an option to reboot the modem once every day and if the problem is caused by an internal firmware issue in the modem then this option could prevent this issue from happening. To reboot the modem once every day, open the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway and set the 'RebootDaily' property to 'True.

Regards, Henk

Hi

We have been using the Diafaan SMS server light edition 4.2.0.2 for a few months without any issue. We are using it in conjunction with an Ostent sms modem to receive sms's only.

Recently we are unable to receive sms's during certain periods. After restarting the modem, it seems to work. I noticed in the events that I'm getting a lot of these error messages, "Network error, the modem is not currently searching a new operator to register to". At this point, it seems like sms's stop working. Any idea if this is a problem with the modem or software? What could be causing this?
