Thanks for the reply. We didn't know that was not possible with on prem SMS Server and that can only achieved with internet based SMS service.
SMS messages that are sent from a GSM modem or mobile phone always have the phone number of the SIM card as the sender ID. There is no way to change that.
If you want to send SMS messages with a name as the sender ID you'll have to use an internet based SMS service. Diafaan SMS Server supports all services that use the SMPP standard and the HTTP API interfaces of BulkSMS, ClickSend, Clickatell, Esendex, MessageBird, Nexmo and Twilio. Not all SMS services support alternative sender IDs but most do support it, albeit often with limitations to prevent number spoofing.
We have the Diafaan (Basic Edition) set up as a GSM Gateway with a Multitech MTR-H5-B07 ( Lan version). Is it possible to set up a name instead of mobile number in sender ? Also how many SMS can be sent per minute ?
