Diafaan SMS Server reboots or resets the modem after every error and reconnects the connection to the modem. You can change this behavior with the 'RebootAfterSendError' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway. If you set this value on 'IgnoreError' Diafaan SMS Server will continue after send errors.
SMS messages do not have a field to indicate that a message is a reply to a specific previously sent message. That means that it is not possible to know for certain that a message is a reply, but you can presume that it is a reply when the sender number of a received message is the same as the destination number of a previously sent message. However, this is never 100% certain. Diafaan SMS Server uses this method of connecting a reply to a specific user or email address in the Web Connector and in the Email Connector.
@Henk Thank you so much , what I figured out is , I was out of credit . I recharged my mobile and then did the same process it work fine. But I've one question it should not be disconnected if I ran out of credit.
One Important thing I would like to know , I need to use it as two way messages. If I send out a query to some number and excepting the reply from it as well so how do I know that it is the reply of that one which I sent few minute back. Looking forward to your kind response.
An Android phone with the GSM Modem Emulator app must be connected to Diafaan SMS Server over a LAN network. To connect Diafaan SMS Server with an Android phone over an internet connection you have to use a VPN connection, as you have done.
I can see no reason why sending a message to a 4 digit number would be different when the Android phone is connected with a VPN connection instead of a LAN connection. At least not when the phone is in the same location. But if the tests are made in different locations then it is possible that the phone is not logged on to the home network over the VPN connection and that sending messages to short codes are not allowed over the roaming network.
If you have a license for Diafaan SMS Server that is still in the free update and support period you can send the communication log of the GSM Modem Gateway to firstname.lastname@example.org with a few test messages that include at least one short code. I might be able to see something in the log that explains the difference between sending messages to short codes and normal numbers.
My diafaan server is locate on remote location with static IP accessible via any where. All I want to connect my mobile phone with it. I've my own portable wifi with me and it has local-ip address assigned to mobile. To over come this issue , Ive installed VPN client on my mobile and on my vpn server I set port forwarding and redirect the connection to my mobile phone which is connected to via VPN local-IP. Is there any other efficient solution that I need to setup. I'm facning discontion issue of modem when sending short code sms like XXXX foud digit numnber. If I send regular number of any cell phone it does send message but not sending message to Four digit number.
If I setup server and modem both on local network , means on same network it work fine with both ways. Four digit and long digit numbers.
Looking forward to your kind response.
