Hello Sarfaraz,

The problem is caused by the underscore '_' character in the source address. An alphanumeric source address in an SMS message can only contain characters from the default SMS character set but instead of only filtering out the characters that are not in the default SMS character set, the SMPP Gateway also converts the character to the corresponding hexadecimal number of the character in the default SMS character set. This is OK for most characters, but a few ASCII characters do not have the same character number as in the default SMS character set, like the underscore, and there it goes wrong.

I will send you a plugin for the SMPP Gateway with a fix for this problem tomorrow.

Regards, Henk

Hello Henk,

Hope you are doing well. Again a big thank you for such a wonderful application and for your continues support & updates.

Today we came across a rather strange issue. When we use a sender as mqjc_sg, magic_sms in the MessageFrom it goes as a different character all together to the SMPP Gateways. Below is the submit response.
