Is this a new SMPP Gateway that you set up after upgrading Diafaan SMS Server or did the send speed suddenly go down after the upgrade?

45 to 50 messages per seconds is not bad for Diafaan SMS Server, it is possible to get a higher throughput but only if all conditions and settings are optimal. The routing settings in Diafaan SMS Server also have a lot of influence on the throughput, the more complicated the message routing is, the slower the send speed will be.

Can you try to set the 'MaxMessagesPerSecond' property to '0', the 'MaxMessagesPerMinute' property to '9000', the 'MaximumBatchSize' property to '1000' or higher and the 'AsyncModeWindowSize' property also to '1000' or higher? These settings should result in the maximum throughput you can achieve on your server with Diafaan SMS Server.

There were no changes in the functionality of the SMPP Gateway in recent versions of Diafaan SMS Server that would explain a slower performance and I don't think that the new version is the cause of the slower message sending. Did you change anything in the settings of the SMPP Gateway or did you create a new gateway after installing the new version?

Make sure that the 'MaximumBatchSize' property is set to at least 5 times the number of messages per second, in your case 750 or higher, otherwise the SMPP Gateway will not get the messages from the message queue fast enough.

Another point is that if you set the 'MaxMessagesPerSecond' to a value higher than '0', the 'MaxMessagesPerMinute' setting is not used. The difference beween the two settings is that 'MaxMessagesPerSecond' keeps the amount of messages that are sent below the set value, in your situation it means that no more than 150 messages will be sent every second (and probably less). The 'MaxMessagesPerMinute' setting means that in an optimal situation exactly the desired number of messages will be sent every minute.
