The trial version of Diafaan SMS Server is exactly the same as the licensed version, there is no difference in message throughput or other messaging behavior.

Diafaan SMS Server should be able to send two million messages per day without problems if the SMPP server supports this speed. However, to prevent overloading the SMPP server, the default message throughput of the SMPP Gateway is limited to 600 messages per minute. You can find a couple of tips to increase the message throughput in this forum thread.

The disconnections of the SQL database and the problems with the status updates in the SQL database are an indication of underlying problems with the connection to the SQL database. There are probably error messages in the event log of the SQL Connector that will provide more information about the cause of the errors.

SMS message are restricted to 160 characters, or 70 Unicode characters, and to send longer messages to a mobile phone Diafaan SMS Server must send the message in multiple message parts. These message parts are combined on the mobile phone to the original long message.

Diafaan SMS Server has can split long messages in up to 255 message parts but the GSM Modem Gateway and the SMPP Gateway have a default limit of 10 message. This limit can be changed with the 'MaxMessageParts' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway and SMPP Gateway.

The Email Connector also has an additional default limit of 160 characters to prevent excessive message lengths with long emails, this value can also be changed in the SMS message template option in the Email Connector.
