Diafaan SMS Server supports the æøå and ÆØÅ characters out of the box. These characters are supported in the default SMS character set, other language dependent characters might trigger Diafaan SMS Server in sending the message as Unicode but this does not happen for the characters you mention.

If you see any problems with these characters, please let me know how you send the message and what you see on the mobile phone.
