Hello Lubos,
Diafaan SMS Server supports the full Unicode character set and it normally handles all international characters transparently.
If some of the characters are replaced by question marks then there is an encoding problem in one of the connectors or gateways, the most common encoding problems are usually found in the SQL Connector or the SMPP Gateway. If you see the question marks in the send log of Diafaan SMS Server then the problem is probably caused by the SQL Connector. If you see the question marks only in the messages on the phone the problem is usually the SMPP Gateway.
In the advanced settings of the SMPP Gateway you can use the 'CharacterSetSend' and 'CharacterSetSendDCS' properties to set the details of the character set that the SMPP service expects.
Regards, Henk
