Hi Luis,
For most USB modems, the reboot command causes the USB device to disconnect and reconnect again. The Huawei devices have on-board software that is started automatically by Windows when the USB drive is reconnected. The only way to prevent that is to disable the auto-run feature in Windows on this page you can find a description of how to disable auto-run.
Some versions of the Huawei modem software have an option to disable the automatic retrieval of received SMS messages. If you do not want to disable auto-run this might be an alternative solution.

Hi Henk,
I got myself a Huawei MODEM E1756C and it works fine, I have it rebooting in case of all the events that are configurable to reboot the modem, the problem I have is that when it reboots it brings up the application that comes in the MODEM up.
When the application that the MODEM brings in the flash memory part of the MODEM it starts receiving the incoming messages and the DIAFAAN server does not get to receive or process those messages.
is there a way that you can reboot the modem without bringing up the MODEMs application?
thanks
Luis
