Hello Karel,
There is no standard way to retrieve the phone number of a SIM card. Some mobile operators have a USSD command that returns the phone number but as you already noticed, this USSD command is different for each mobile operator.
The phone number can also be written to the SIM card but not all GSM modems have the ability to read this number from the SIM card and mobile operators often do not ship the SIM cards with the phone numbers already written on them. You can use Diafaan SMS Server to write the phone number to the SIM card with the following steps:
- Open the GSM Modem Gateway properties
- Select 'GSM modem'
- Click on the 'Test' button
- Click 'Change GSM number'
- Fill in the phone number and click on the 'Write' button
If your GSM modem supports the 'AT+CNUM' command, the GSM Modem Gateway will now report the phone number in the gateway properties.
Regards, Henk
