Hello Alex,

The hexadecimal value of the validity period (TP-VP) is defined by the relative validity period format in the 3GPP TS 23.040 specification. The definition of the relative validity period is as follows:

0 to 143 (0x00 to 0x8F)
(TP-VP + 1) x 5 minutes (i.e. 5 minutes intervals up to 12 hours)

144 to 167 (0x90 to 0xA7)
12 hours + ((TP-VP -143) x 30 minutes)

168 to 196 (0xA8 to 0xC4)
(TP-VP - 166) x 1 day

197 to 255 (0xC5 to 0xFF)
(TP-VP - 192) x 1 week

A validity period of 10 minutes has a value of 0x01, 15 minutes is 0x02.

Regards, Henk

hello!

I try to get idea how hexadecimal ValidityPeriod in GSM Modem Gateway can be calculated. I found it is written there 0x00 is equal to 5 minutes and 0xff is equal to 441 days. But how i can calculate for example 10 or 15 minutes?

Somewhere i found 0x23 is equal to 3 hours.

I cant bend my head around it - what is the logic of making HEX values?

Kindest regards, Alex
