Hi Bambinou,
Diafaan SMS Server is designed to send and receive SMS messages as fast and reliable as possible. It can send SMS messages with one or more GSM modems or with an online SMS service using SMPP or Clickatell. The GSM modems are connected to the PC/server with a serial port, a USB port or a LAN connection (USB modems are not really suited for bulk messaging), the GSM modems need a SIM card that allows it to log on to the GSM network and handle the message charges.
It is possible to use Diafaan SMS Server for in-house messaging, integration into an IT system or for bulk SMS but there are no special features built-in to support SMS marketing campaigns. For instance, Diafaan SMS Server does not support opt-in or opt-out for a marketing campaign. If you need that functionality you have to implement it in an external application.
Diafaan SMS Server can be integrated into an SQL database like MySQL. When you add a database record with the GSM number and message text to the designated database table, Diafaan SMS Server will send the messages automatically and received SMS messages are automatically stored in another database table.
I cannot really answer your questions 3 and 6, the answer depends too much on your local situation and your requirements.

Hello,
I am new to this, would you mind explaining exactly how everything works together please?
1)As I understand it, you need to have a PC with windows(or supported os), then pull a Lan cable from the PC to a GSM modem.
The GSM modem will take SIM cards and rotate them on everything messages up to a maximum per minute depending on the GSM modem.
The Daifan software then organize the Marketing SMS campaign and send the messages when requested, it seems that the DAIFAN software can also connect to mysql.
Could you please let me know if my understanding is correct?
2)If the above is correct, how to actually buy SMS credits? What do you do? You just put the SIM card in the GSM modem, and what? Could you please explain?
3)Where is the best place to have cheap SMS credits?
4)When a customer receives the message and wishes to cancel his SMS subscription, how does it work? Do you have to manually remove the user each time or does the DAIFAN software does it automtically?
5)If you are connected to a DATABASE MYSQL, will the DAIFAN software remove the user(from question 4) from that database?
6)What do you normally use to gain customer phone numbers to make the transfer of customer data easier? I was thinking about MailChimp.
Thank you for your help,
Bambinou
