The Timeout error indicates that the GSM modem hangs and does not respond to the modem commands anymore. Diafaan SMS Server repeatedly tries to close and open the serial port and send a reset command to the modem but apparently this does not work to get your modem operational again.

The GSM Modem Gateway has an Advanced option "RebootAfterTimeout" that sends a reboot command to the modem after a timeout error. You can set this option to True to enable it and this might cause the modem to work again, please note that not all modems react well to the reboot command.

The Scripting Connector in Diafaan SMS Server supports the full dotNet 2 library in C# or Visual Basic.NET. Some information about the implementation in Diafaan SMS Server is available in the help file. On the download page on our website you can download the scripting pack for Diafaan SMS Server that has a couple of example scripts.

Hi,

I am getting;

"EventTime Event Source
23/6/2012 1:58:36 PM Timeout error, no or unexpected response after GSM Modem command "AT&FE0". GSM Modem Gateway "

I am using Telit Modem on COM1 at 115200bps

Also can you point me to help section on implementing scripting function.

I can see the scripting "maybe" can address my needs.

Also, please explain why the Serial Port is always OPEN and Closes, is this normal.

We do not provide an OCX or DLL that can be used in your application, but if I understand your requirements correctly it is possible to implement this fully in Diafaan SMS Server with a Scripting Connector.

The Scripting Connector supports scripts in C# and Visual Basic.NET, you can use the script to decode the SMS message and store the result in a database. All within the scripting environment.

Take a look at the Scripting Connector and please let me know if you have any further questions.

Regards, Henk

Hi,

I used your trial version, and it;s works fine, for our project we need to decode the incoming sms and save it into SQL table (according to decoded result), with your software, it will put into SQL then I need to get it from SQL/decode/put back.

This is not agreed by our project owner, he prefer the GSM interface and SQL interface being one software. As such, does your company sales OCX or DLL for VS2010 platform ??

Basically I need the routine to convert PDU to Text and Text to PDU, other modem interfacing I am capable of also sending/PHP_script_to_send_SMS_messagesceiving SMS in text format I am able to, for our project we needed to send in PDU mode. And that gives me nightmare.
