Hello Lani,

You can slow down the message throughput of a GSM Modem Gateway with the 'SendDelayTime' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway.

As we are experiencing same issue as Saulo, may I check with you if on Diafaan, is there a way to slow down the send speed? Ie. send 1 SMS only per sec per gateway.

Hello Saulo,

The string of letters and numbers is the SMS Packet Data Unit (PDU) that contains all the information of the SMS message. Diafaan SMS Server sends this PDU to the GSM modem and the GSM modem sends it through the mobile network to the mobile phone of the recipient of the message.

The error means that the modem does not return the normal response after Diafaan SMS Server sends the PDU. After waiting up to 60 seconds for the response, Diafaan SMS Server triggers a timeout, restarts the modem and tries to send the message again (by default up to two more times).

These kinds of problems are usually caused by network problems between the modem and the mobile network, there is often not much you can do about it except using another type of modem, slowing down the send speed or finding a location for the modem with better network quality. When this error happens no more than once every 50 or so messages it is not out of the ordinary but if it happens too often, it might result in failed messages or significantly slower send speed.

Regards, Henk

Hello. 3 months after i installed the server the software started sending this errors.
Timeout error, no or unexpected response after GSM Modem command "07912160130300F431040B917168621991F90000AA1AC3B01C242DC7EBE539BD4C064DEBE371793E37D7D9EC3C ".

It still sends and receives messages between modem resets but i do not know why the server sends this messages to the modem.

All the errors of this kind have just letters and numbers but i do not know how to find why is trying to send them to the modem.

Do you know what causes this?
