Hello Dave,

There are two possible reasons why the messages are not received. The first possibility is that the messages are not delivered to your modem by the mobile network. Sometimes SMS messages get stuck in the SMS Central (SMSC) of your mobile network operator because it thinks that your modem is not connected to the mobile network and it might take a couple of hours before the SMSC will try to send the messages again.

Another, more likely, possibility is that the modem was used with other SMS software that set up the modem to store the messages in a memory location where Diafaan SMS Server does not look. To change this, you can try to set the
'ModemInitializationBeginning' property in the advance settings of the GSM Modem Gateway to:
AT+CPMS="MT","MT","MT"
or:
AT+CPMS="ME","ME","ME"
or:
AT+CPMS="SM","SM","SM"

If all three setting don't work I would like to see the full modem log for all of the settings, you can send the logs to dms@diafaan.com.

Regards, Henk

I'm having some trouble getting Diafaan to receive SMS.

Everything appears to be working, I have the email connector working and it sends me an email when something goes wrong, I have the web connector working and I can send SMS from that. Using the SQL connector also works to send SMS with no dramas and the web connector also works to send.

BUT, nothing happens at all, not even a little blip of an error when I try to reply to an SMS.

Looking at the GSM Modem Gateway.log file I can see that it's doing this (below)

2015/08/20 14:32:22.010 > AT+CMGL=4
2015/08/20 14:32:22.051 < OK
2015/08/20 14:32:27.382 > AT+CMGL=4
2015/08/20 14:32:27.403 < OK

Which I believe is correct, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything else.

Can you help?

Thanks
