I do not know of a standard software solution that supports this functionality, as far as I know there are no SMS software solutions with this feature. You could look at an open source PBX/VoIP solution like Asterisk* or other software. But I have no idea if any of those PBX/VoIP software solutions offer the functionality that you need.

Thankyou very much for your quick reply. I feel like I've been going round in circles trying to find either the software or hardware im wanting.

I know other people's software isn't your focus but do you have any hints, tips or ideas on where I could possibly look. Whether it be software based or hardware company that could advise?

Thanks so much
T

No, that functionality is not built into Diafaan SMS Server. The HTTP API in Diafaan SMS Server mainly supports sending and receiving SMS messages, it can also be used to change the configuration and settings. But the API does not have an option to check any free SIM cards or assign them to a specific user.

Please be patient as in not fully tech up on api's etc. the work for the website I want will be done by a professional but I need to get the basics planned.

I want to start a website similar to these virtual numbers rental websites.. My main difference is though is that I want to rent out a real SIM card which can only be used by the customer who paid for it.

Can diafann API list all the available SIM card numbers to the website, then when someone decides they want that number, give them a way that it can only be used by that user?

Thanks
