We generally test the full edition of Diafaan SMS Server with up to 32 gateways. Depending of the speed of the computer hardware the responsiveness of the console program will go down when you add more and more gateways. For every gateway and connector Diafaan SMS Server has to re-calculate the routing options.
Apart from using a faster computer (preferably with an SSD drive) there is not much you can do about it. The only thing you can check is if you have enabled the option 'Re-assign gateways to all pending messages after configuration changed' (disabled by default). This option causes a re-calculation of the routing of all messages after a change in the configuration is made and can take quite a while when the send queue is large.
For a future version of Diafaan SMS Server (but probably not the next one) we will do a test with more gateways and see if there are any bottlenecks in the way that adding gateways is handled. But for the moment there is no simple way to increase the responsiveness.

Hi Henk,
Diafaan SMS Server Console going slowly when enable/disable and add new Gateway.
I'm using four 16 port gsm modem, so total is 64 Gateways in Diafaan Server and I use five SQL Connector. If I just using less than 32 Gateways, Diafaan Server is normaly and when enable/disable and add new Gateway is giong fast.
How much maximal of gateway which can we use in order not to slow Diafaan SMS Server Console?
Is there any setting or options to make it working normaly when using many Gateways and SQL Connector?
FYI: The average of total send queue per day is more than 100,000 sms. And we using Diafaan SMS Server Full Edition.
Hello Eric,
No, the USSD messages (and modem AT command messages) are always routed through the message queue of Diafaan SMS Server.
If you are sending the USSD messages from the HTTP API or the SQL Connector, you can give the message a higher priority to ensure that it is placed in front of the queue.
Regards, Henk
