Update: Hypermedia informed us that adding the line 'save_in_sms_if_client_is_down = True' to the 'sms.conf' file on the Hypermedia SMS PRO gateway will store the received SMS messages in case no client is registered for IN SMS.

Hello Eric,

Unfortunately, this behavior is probably a limitation of the Hypermedia SMS Pro Gateway API. The API does not allow Diafaan SMS Server to request old received messages from the gateway, it only allows Diafaan SMS Server to register for new incoming SMS messages and then wait until the gateway forwards the messages. I would expect the Hypermedia SMS Pro Gateway to store the messages until a client application logs on and then forward the stored messages but apparently this does not happen.

The Hypermedia SMS Pro Gateway also has support for the SMPP protocol (with an additional license). It might be that the SMPP protocol does forward stored messages but I am not sure about this.

Regards, Henk

When we did a continuity test with the Hypermedia SMS Pro Gateway, we observed the following behavior:
-When we stop the Hypermedia Gateway, Diafaan starts logging connection errors
-When we start the Hypermedia Gateway, Diafaan reconnects to the server and starts receiving SMS messages.
-The messages that were received by the gateway between the time the Hypermedia Gateway started and the time that Diafaan reconnected are ignored and not picked up by the Diafaan server.

I would expect Diafaan to pick up all messages available on the server after a reconnect, not the ones received after the reconnect.
