This error is returned by the mobile service provider when it is unable to deliver the SMS message to the mobile phone within the validity period of the message. By default, Diafaan SMS Server uses a validity period of four days for the GSM Modem Gateway and the default value of the SMPP server for the SMPP Gateway but this can be changed in the settings of the GSM Modem Gateway and the SMPP Gateway.

Usually, this error indicates that the mobile phone is switched off or that it is outside the range of the mobile network. In some cases there might be a problem within the SMS central of the mobile network if it does not get an alert that the mobile phone is logged on to the mobile network.

Since it is a network error, it is not possible to influence it with a setting in Diafaan SMS Server except for changing the validity period of the gateway to a higher value.
