Hello Ben,

Wireless modems make a connection to the mobile network automatically, without any instructions from Diafaan SMS Server. The modem selects the best network connection depending on the capabilities of the modem and the available mobile networks. 3G modems will connect to the 3G mobile network by default, but if the 3G network is not available or unreliable it will switch to 2G or to a 3G network of another provider. In theory you can instruct the modem to select a specific mobile network but in practice it is almost always better to let the modem select the best network.

If you have a 2G modem, it will not be able to connector to a 3G network and your only option is to buy a new modem. If you have a 3G modem and it is still connecting only to the 2G network then the 3G network is probably not strong enough in the location of the modem and you might have to place the modem somewhere else.

Regards, Henk

Hello. My Telco provider has informed me that our text messages are being sent out via 2g.

They advised 2g is being switched off very soon and to change the settings so it sends via auto or 3g.

I can not find this option in the Diafaan SMS server software.

Can anyone assist?

Thanks,
Ben
