Hi Fabian,

It took me some time to figure this one out too. The SMTP Server function only works when the .NET 2 Service Pack 1 is installed. The NET 3.5 framework also installs the service pack for .Net 2.

Others who encounter this problem can download the necessary installation files from the Microsoft website:
.NET 2 Service Pack 1
or
.NET 3.5 framework

Hi Henk,

the problem is fixed. The wrong version of .net (v2.x) installed caused the problem.
Now .net v3.5 is installed and it works fine.

Hi Fabian,

There seems to be a problem with the SMTP server on Windows Server 2003. Strangely enough only Windows Server 2003 is affected. I have checked Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 and Server 2008 (64-bits) and the SMTP server works just fine on those systems.

We will set up a debug environment on Windows 2003 to determine if the problem lies in a Windows 2003 setting or something in Diafaan SMS Server. I will post a message here if we find a solution for the problem.

Hi,

i'm trying set up the newest SMS-Gateway to serv as SMTP server. The Problem is, that the service didn't set up the SMTP-Port 25 to the Server.
With netstat -a the SMTP-Port isn't listed and so the port isn't listening vor incoming mails. Stop and start the service takes no effect.

Setup: Win2003 Server + SMS-Server light V 1.6.1.0
