One additional point: the 'MessageLog' table is only filled with the information of messages that are sent from the 'MessageOut' table. If you send a message directly from Diafaan SMS Server Console, or from another Connector, it won't be written to the 'MessageLog' table.

Thank you. So, there is no information in Event log related to SQL connector except stopped and started events.

At connector properties testing all tables gives success.

I have about 50 messages sent or received so far but only 2 entries in the log table (so it is not completely dead).

Will clear the table and watch more.

Hello Richard,

The 'IsRead' field in the 'MessageOut' database table is not used by Diafaan SMS Server and will never be updated. If you send a small amount of messages per month you can let Diafaan SMS Server change the 'IsSent' field to '1' but otherwise it is best to let Diafaan SMS Server remove the record after importing them. It might otherwise lead to problems or slow performance when the 'MessageOut' table is getting too large.

If the 'MessageLog' table is not filled, there should be an error in the event log of Diafaan SMS Server that might give a clue about the source of the problem. MSDE 2000 is quite old and the database layout that Diafaan SMS Server automatically created might not be fully compatible with it. It probably needs some changes in the database layout or in the settings of the SQL Connector in Diafaan SMS Server to get it to work.

Diafaan SMS Server does not have a web interface to the console, it does have a web application in the Web Connector that allows monitoring of the server but if you want to use that in combination with the SQL Connector you need the basic- or full edition of Diafaan SMS Server.

Regards, Henk

Hi, I need to use Light version with one modem and one SQL connector.

I made the databases automatically (on my MSDE 2000) then I needed to run the scripts by hand after changing varchar(max) to varchar (255).

At this time system works, I can send and receive messages. However the log database is not filling up. I changed MessageOut to update isSent to value 1, however isRead never updates.

The only way I can tell if messages were delivered is from the console. I would like to use the console but... I need to run the console from another machine, not from the server itself.

Or I would like to use a web interface to supervise the server. But I need to stick to Light edition, the price difference does not justify to go up to Basic.
