Thanks for the logs. According to the log, the following 2 'ModemLogon' parameters will work with the PORTech MV-372. The first one to access modem module 1 and the second one to access modem module 2:

username:@SERVICE;password:@1234;module2.@module1;got!!

username:@SERVICE;password:@1234;module2.@module2;got!!

However, the log also shows that the modem module stops responding shortly after the logon procedure. I suspect that you are still using the PORTech MV-372 as a VoIP gateway and that the VoIP software of the device takes back control of the modem module. Diafaan SMS Server only works correctly when it has exclusive access to the modem module and the VoIP functionality of the modem is not in use.

Regards, Henk

Hello Lucas,

You can try to change the 'ModemLogon' parameter in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway to:

username:@SERVICE;password:@1234;module2.@module1;got!!

If that does not work then I would like to see the communication log for the modem, you can send the log to dms@diafaan.com. On this webpage you can find instructions how to enable communication logging. I would also like to see a screenshot of the telnet session that you use to log in to the modem.

Regards, Henk

Hello, I've quite the same Problem on initializing the MV-372:

- Open port: TCP/IP:115200,n,8,1:192.168.1.210:23
- Logon parameters: username:@SERVICE;password:@1234;]@module1;got!!
SERVICE

< SERVICE
1234

< *********
< user level = admin.
< command: logout, module, module1, module2.

- Timeout
- Port closed

I wonder, if the FW on tht MV-372 is up to date, because unlike the previous post from Infomusic, my unit obviously provides 3 commands only:

Mobile VoIP2 v6.694.j
Model Type:
MV-372
Model Description:
GSM:850/900/1800/1900MHz (P5186)
Firmware Version:
Tue Apr 7 17:32:30 2009.
Codec Version:
Mon Jul 24 10:55:05 2006.

If I telnet the commands:

module1
AT&FE0

I get no errors, thus everything seems to be fine, generally.

We have had another report about a similar problem with the PORTech MV-372, unfortunately we never received further feedback from this user and I do not know if the issue was resolved.

I would like to see the full communication log for the modem, is it possible to send the log to dms@diafaan.com? On this webpage you can find instructions how to enable communication logging. A log of 10-15 minutes would be ideal.

Regards, Henk

Hello everyone,
i'm trying to set up the demo version, in order to buy the full once all is going well.
I'm having difficulties setting up my mv372 gateway, the configuration is very simple: all is default, create a gateway, portech one, then insert the ip address, the username and the password. When i click on test button it fails and this is the message:

- Open port: TCP/IP:115200,n,8,1:192.168.60.241:23
- Logon parameters: username:@voip;password:@1234;]@module1;got!!
voip\r

< voip
1234\r

< ****
< user level = admin.
< command: logout, module1, module2, state1, state2, info.
module1\r

< module1
< getting module 1 ...
AT&FE0\r
< 0V0
< AT&F
< ERROR

If i go on, ignoring the error, the gateway is always in initializing state... in the events i have:

EventTime Event Source
28/06/2013 14:31:02 Serial port closed. GSM Modem Gateway
28/06/2013 14:31:00 Serial port "TCP/IP:115200,n,8,1:192.168.60.241:23" open. GSM Modem Gateway

Any help?
