Thank you for the communication log. The reason for the reboots is that the modem contains a lot of received messages in the memory and when Diafaan SMS Server tries to read the messages from the modem it takes so long that it triggers a timeout error in Diafaan SMS Server.

We will fix this in the next version of Diafaan SMS Server. In the meantime, I can send you a plugin for the GSM Modem Gateway that will not trigger the timeout when the modem memory contains a large amount of messages.

Regards, Henk

If you send the communication log of the modem to email address dms@diafaan.com I can have a look to see what the cause of the problem could be. Please make sure to include the serial number or purchase order number of your license in the email.

Yes, the PORTech MV-370 can be used as a VOIP gateway or the internal modem module can be accessed by programs as Diafaan SMS Server, not both at the same time.

Hello Marco,

There could be a number of reasons why Diafaan SMS Server continuously tries to reboot the modem. It is possible that the modem reported an error when you are sending a message, if that happens Diafaan SMS Server reboots the modem and tries again. You can disable the reboot option with the 'RebootBeforeInitialization' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway.

It is also possible that the modem is restarted by an internal process in the modem. If you are using the PORTech modem as a VOIP gateway at the same time that it is used by Diafaan SMS Server, the two processes will interfere with each other and (re)claim access to the modem module alternately.

If you send the communication log of the modem to email address dms@diafaan.com I can have a look to see what the cause of the problem could be. Please make sure to include the serial number or purchase order number of your license in the email.

Regards, Henk
