Hello William,

You are most likely correct that the Vodafone software intercepts some of the incoming messages, Diafaan SMS Server and the Vodafone software both try to read the new messages from the SIM card at the same time. The problems with the outgoing messages are probably also related to the Vodafone software. The Vodafone software prevents Diafaan SMS Server from setting up a reliable connection to the modem and when the connection is lost for more than 5 minutes the GSM Modem Gateway is flagged as unavailable.

Running both the connection software of the modem and Diafaan SMS Server is almost always problematic. And if the modem does not work without the connection software there might be no other option than using another GSM modem. If you use Diafaan SMS Server for a critical application, it is probably better to use an industrial GSM/3G modem from Cinterion or ConiuGo. These modems are usually more reliable then USB type 'dongle' modems.

The latest version of Diafaan SMS Server is 2.1.5.1 but since the free update and support period of your license is expired this version does not work anymore with your license. However, a new version will not solve the problems with your USB modem.

Regards, Henk

Hi,
We've migrated the Diafaan Light version 1.7.1.3. (Is this the latest version BTW ?) from a Windows XP version to a new 64-bit Windows 7.
Since then we started missing in- and outgoing SMS. Since this is a critical app, it's now become unreliable.
When sending SMS (through a Sql Server SQL Connector) we sometimes get the error "Error: No gateway available". This is the least of our worries since we're able to refire the "lost attempts".
Much worse are the lost incoming messages. We suspect it might be that the Vodaphone SMS app highjacks some incoming SMS before the Diafaan has the chance to see them. So some conflict between the 2 apps.
We tried to disable the Vodaphone software altogether but then we lose the SMS fuction too.
Would anyone be able to help us out please ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
