You don't specify the brand and model of the USB GSM modem you have, but the most likely cause for this problem is that the modem is a 'WiFi' USB dongle. These type of GSM modems do not use a virtual COM port anymore and do not conform to the 3GPP TS 07.05/3GPP TS 07.07 AT command standards that Diafaan SMS Server needs to be able to send and receive SMS messages.

You can find a number of reviews for modems that we have successfully tested with Diafaan SMS Server on the left.

Can you give me more details about the brand and type of the GSM modem you use? Is it a serial port modem, a USB (dongle) modem, an Android phone, a TCP/IP modem or a (USB) modem pool?

If you use a serial port or USB modem, I would like to see the log of the 'Search' button when you add the modem (select 'View log' after you used the search function).
