Hello Gavin,

The Sierra Wireless FXT009 and a serial to TCP/IP convertor like the ATC-1000 should work well together. You can also use the USB port of the FXT009 but as you can read in our review there can be problems with the USB connection if the modem reboots. In Diafaan SMS Server you can disable modem reboots so you could try it out to see if the modem with the USB port is reliable enough in your situation.

Another option is to use a LAN modem like the Gemalto EHS6T LAN modem or the ConiuGo 4G LAN modem. These modem models don't need a serial to TCP/IP converter and they are more reliable then the combination of a serial port modem with a separate converter.

Regards, Henk

Hi there. I have read the FXT009 review on the website but was wondering if it would work well with and ATC-1000 as the server I wish to connect it to does not have a spare serial port.

I notice that the FXT009 does have a usb connection, would I be better off using that?

The server has a spare usb port

Regards

Gavin
