Hello Grebo,

Diafaan SMS Server can work with all GSM modems that support the GSM 07.05/07.07 AT command standard over a serial port connection, USB or TCP. The modem pools that you found have a USB connection that creates one virtual serial port for each modem module and this can be used by Diafaan SMS Server.

When we tested these modem pools for our website, the Q24plus 2G modem module was the most reliable, but this was some years ago and the situation has changed considerably, not least because in many countries the 2G network has been, or is in the process of being, shut down. At the moment the most reliable modem modules that are used in these modem pools are in most cases 4G or LTE modules, 4G modem modules can connect to 2G, 3G and 4G networks so they should be able to connect to any network in your area. In addition LTE modem modules can also connect to 4.5G or 5G networks (depending on the modem module). 4G and LTE modem modules are considerably more expensive than 2G modules so the price of a modem pool with these modem modules is also higher. The reseller of the modem pool should be able to tell you which model will work best in your location.

There are a few TCP modems/gateways/routers on the market, you can find the reviews of them on our website. Most multi-port TCP devices are routers that do not support the GSM 07.05/07.07 AT command standard. But they sometimes support the SMPP standard that can also be used with Diafaan SMS Server. Some TCP routers also have an SMS HTTP API that you can use, in that case you do not need software like Diafaan SMS Server to send and receive SMS messages with the device

Hello, I read your test about the 8 port GSM modem. There you say the Q24plus modem is the best. Now I checked aliexpress for the modem and found this: [* Link removed *] In the description there are a lot modems. What does this mean? Am I right, that I can ignore this and the modem they use is only the one they use in the title? So for my example it is the modem "MC35I", right?

It is not that easy to find 8/16/32/64 port modems with Q24plus. And I am not sure if I really need Q24plus. So it would be great if anyone have a overview of all modems. I want to read more about it. But I can't even found any news, that the Q24plus is new and the best. I can't find any comparison. Also I do not know if Q24plus still the best, because I do not know when the test was published.

I only need a modem to receive SMS and to do calls. And I want to use Diafaan, so I do not need any features like MMS,FAX,WEB,TCP/IP,OPEN AT. Or is a modem with TCP better? I dont unterstand this so good. I mean I thought I already use Diafaan to connect my modem to the web. But when I have direct TCP connection, I do not need Diafaan? But I also can configure TCP modems in Diafaan. I don't get it. Is it better to have this feature or do I not need it, when I just want to receive SMS and do calls? I want the best, but I want to know why its the best and I want to read more about different modems... I wish there is any comparison...
