Error 513 is an error code from the GSM modem, it is usually returned when the GSM modem cannot send a message but unfortunately, the error is somewhat generic and could indicate different problems.

One possibility is that the GSM provider does not accept the destination number, it is best to use International number format for all messages sent with Diafaan SMS Server.

The error might also pop up when the GSM modem has trouble sending and receiving too much messages. If this is the case it might be necessary to slow down message sending. The 'SendDelayTime' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway can be used to set a delay between sending multiple messages.

Hello Fábio,

We have got reports from customers that some GSM modem pools have characteristics that makes it hard for Diafaan SMS Server to detect the modems automatically. But it is possible that you can add each modem individually and change some settings manually.

To add each modem manually:
- Select the port in the GSM Modem Gateway setup wizard
- Click on the 'Test' button, ignore the errors and proceed with the setup
- Open the GSM Modem Gateway properties for the new gateway
- Select the 'Advanced' page
- Set the 'RebootBeforeInitialization' property to 'True'
- Set the 'FlowControl' property to 'None'
- Click on the 'Save' button to save the settings

Regards, Henk

I purchased a 16-port module for use in the testing of Diafaan server, and unfortunately is not working properly, when I start looking doors diaffan the server does not find the modem, I thought it was problem in modems, and continued to insist, and sometime Diafaan server encountered some modems, the fact that I found odd and contacted the supplier of the module.

Used other software that identifies all modems and works perfectly, I would be getting the diaffan because it worked very well with modems isolated, but with the pool of 16-port does not work.

I took a look in the log, and identified the Diafaan opens the door and then immediately gives timeout error and closes the door.

What you can do, have any special configuration for this type of equipment?
