Diafaan SMS Server – basic edition

Diafaan SMS Server makes it easy to send and receive SMS messages from and to an SQL database. Simply attach a GSM modem to you server or set up a Clickatell SMS account, use a wizard to add the SMS gateway in the software and select the appropriate tables from your database or let Diafaan SMS Server create a new database for you.

Limitations
The basic edition of Diafaan SMS Server supports four GSM modems or Clickatell accounts and up to four http web- e-mail-, database- or C#/Visual Basic .NET scripting connections. Apart from those limitations this edition offers the same features as the full edition of Diafaan SMS Server.

Alarm escalation
Since the basic edition of Diafaan SMS Server supports four SMS gateways, it is an good choice when you want to send an SMS alarm to one or more persons. When one of the SMS gateways fails, the other one takes over. You can for instance use a GSM modem as the primary gateway and Clickatell as the backup gateway. GSM modems often deliver the messages faster but if the modem or the GSM network fails, the messages are still delivered through the internet connection.
