Thanks Henk for the good advice as always.

Another user with the same issue found out that setting the option 'SMSOverGPRS' to 'True' in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway also worked for his modem. You could try if that works on your modem as well and if it does then there is no immediate reason to upgrade. You just have to remember to set this option after you add a new modem to Diafaan SMS Server.
If this setting does not work, or if you want to extend the free update and support period you may consider upgrading. Just send us an email with the update request and we will send you a coupon code with a 20% upgrade discount on a new license.

Would it be worthwhile to upgrade as our current version is 4.5.0.0 ?
Hello Peter,
Older versions of Diafaan SMS Server use a modem command that is incompatible with some modern 4G LTE modems, this command was removed from Diafaan SMS Server in version 4.6.0.0.
You can test this by setting the 'CompatibilityMode' property in the advanced settings of the GSM Modem Gateway to 'BasicPDUMode', and after that rebooting the modem by removing the power supply connector for a few seconds. In BasicPDUMode, Diafaan SMS Server does not use this modem command and the modem should work again for sending and receiving SMS messages.
In BasicPDUMode, Diafaan SMS Server does not ask the modem for status information so you do not see the status of the modem and the network in the console program. But sending and receiving SMS messages is fully supported.

I have a Multitech r100 4G that has been happily working on 3G.
Last night 3G was switched off and the modem reverted to 4G. Since this, the diafaan server has not been able to communicate with the modem.
If I log onto the modem directly, I can send an SMS via the modem and 4G.
Rebooted server, modems etc. to no avail.
Help required.
Thanks
