A quick update for other users that experience this problem.
It turns out that the SMTP server only works properly with the latest version of Microsoft dotNet 2. It is recommended to install Microsoft dotNet 3.5, this version also contains the latest patches for dotNet 2.
Microsoft dotNet 3.5 can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/downl…..aspx?id=21

Hi Wolfgang,
Can you email me the configuration of Diafaan SMS Server (Select File-Export-Configuration) and the Windows version you use?
The SMTP server in Diafaan SMS Server does not generate an error in the event log when it cannot start, but normally this can only happen when another program uses port 25. I can send you an updated version of the email library that does generate an error in the event log. Maybe this will shed some light on the reason of the error.
Regards, Henk

Hi dear Diafaan Team,
i tried to start the SMTP Connector (Email Connector) and set it to Port 25. Firewall is not running!.
If i try to connect via telnet to port 25 it tells me that it can not connect.
I tried different ports put seems that it can not start the smtp server.
I checked with tcpview and tcpview also does not show any open port other than 9710 (for http connector)
any ideas?
Thanks
Wolf.
