There are no limits to the database size built-in to Diafaan SMS Server. The number of messages in the SQL database should not be a problem (certainly not for high-performance databases like Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL). However it is recommended to allow Diafaan SMS Server to remove the messages from the SQL database after processing them to limit the number of messages in the MessageOut table.

The internal message database in Diafaan SMS Server will slow down message processing when the database size is getting too large. We usually test with batches of 100000 messages, if the number of messages in the queue is significantly higher you might see higher CPU use and slower message delivery.
